Medical Advisory Board
The Texas Department of State Health Services appoints a panel of physicians that convenes to review medical documentation related to the driving ability of reported Texas drivers.
The Department of Public Safety acts in accordance with the medical findings of the Medical Advisory Board by revoking the driver license of a person found medically incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle.
Reinstatement requirements
The person may be eligible to request an administrative hearing to contest the suspension.
The following revocation actions all require the payment of the reinstatement fees prior to the renewal or issuance of a driver license. The filing of a Form SR-22 is not required for these revocations. An occupational license may not be obtained for medical revocations.
