Doug Otis SIMS was added to the most wanted sex offender list on 08/20/2013. He was added with a reward amount up to $3,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Through investigative means, Armstrong County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Department of Criminal Justice apprehended SIMS in Armstrong County on 08/26/2013.  SIMS attempted to elude police by using electrical tape to alter the numbers on his license plate.

SIMS is awaiting extradition to Shelby County. SIMS was convicted of Sexual Assault Child and is required to register as a Sex Offender annually for life. SIMS last registered with Center Police Department in 2011 and then he absconded. SIMS was wanted for a Sex Offender registration violation and Burglary of Habitation.
