Added to the list in 2007, Rene Morales MUNOZ eluded law enforcement for years. MUNOZ, a Texas Mexican Mafia gang member, was wanted in Frio County for Murder and Parole Violation, and was also wanted by the US Marshals for Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and Sexual Assault.

In February 2011, a tip was called in regarding a possible location in Mexico. MUNOZ had entered that country under an assumed name and took up residency in Puerto Vallarta, where he was selling time shares to tourists at a local resort. Since 2011, three more tips were received regarding his location.

14 months after the first tip was received, MUNOZ was arrested on May 2, 2012, in Nueva Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico, by Mexican immigration agents and detained in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. On May 3, 2012, the Mexico City Foreign Field Office coordinated his deportation to Houston, Texas. MUNOZ was accompanied on the plane by US Marshal Service agents. He was then transported to a federal detention center without incident.

A total of 4 tipsters will be paid rewards totaling $10,000 for tips that led to MUNOZ's arrest.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the following methods:
• Call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) • Text the letters "DPS"- followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) • Submit a web tip through the Texas 10 Most Wanted website or Facebook page • Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App
All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
Callers’ anonymity is guaranteed by law and you could earn up to the CASH REWARD amount listed for each fugitive.
These fugitives should be considered Armed and Dangerous! Never try to apprehend a fugitive yourself.
