Unsolved Homicides
(Cold Case Investigations)

Unsolved Crimes Investigation Program
The Texas Ranger Unsolved Crimes Investigation Team was created on September 1, 2001 by the 77th Session of Texas Legislature.  The program’s primary objective is to provide Texas law enforcement agencies with a process for investigating unsolved murders or what appear to be serial or linked criminal transactions.  Since there is no statute of limitations on the offense of murder, the state has the moral and statutory obligation to pursue these cases to a successful resolution; or until no other lead is viable.  Law enforcement must devote every effort to investigate these crimes to the fullest extent for the victims and their families.  The Texas Rangers’ Cold Case website was created with those efforts in mind, to assist such cases in establishing further investigative leads.

This website features unsolved (cold case) investigations in the State of Texas; however it is not all inclusive.  The links herein can be used to review the cold case information provided on this site.
