DISASTER RESPONSE WORKSHOPS: COMING TO A LOCATION NEAR YOU
Have you heard? The 2012 Disaster Response Workshops have begun.
Representatives with the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Texas Department of State Health Services are hosting these workshops in each DPS Region this spring to discuss state capabilities and initiatives that are pertinent to your local communities, and expectations for the coming year.
The regional workshops will aid in the effort to streamline coordination of local and state response, providing a prime opportunity for you, the members of the emergency management community, and our partners to come together to discuss the topics that matter most to your region. Exercise credit will be awarded and staff will be on hand to ensure that your questions and concerns are addressed.
"The Texas emergency management community has a long-standing tradition of excellent service to the citizens of this great state,” said TDEM Chief Nim Kidd. “A large part of our role as emergency managers is focused on continually refining our capabilities, improving our programs and services, and becoming more effective in how we respond. With this in mind, I am excited for us all to participate in the Disaster Response Workshops."
The workshops will be held on the following dates and locations. You can find more information about the workshop scheduled for your region by clicking the appropriate link below or visiting www.preparingtexas.org. You can also contact your District Coordinator for more information.
