In times of disaster, everyone wants to lend a helping hand. To be effective, it’s wise to be trained BEFORE disaster strikes. Sign up in advance and receive volunteer training with the local organization of your choice. Most voluntary organizations rely on trained personnel who “hit the ground running” in times of need.

There is no substitute for advance training when it comes to helping out in an emergency. Areas hit by disaster can be dangerous and situations can be extremely complex. Training in advance as a volunteer gives you the confidence you need to deal with challenging situations as you help your fellow Texans.
