Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Arrested in East Texas

AUSTIN – Eric Lapaul Mosby, 39, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, is now in custody after being arrested on Tuesday in San Augustine, Texas. Mosby’s criminal history included sexual assault of a child and aggravated assault, and he was wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration, tampering with a governmental record and probation violation

At approximately 10:45 a.m., Mosby was arrested without incident at the San Augustine Sheriff’s Office after turning himself in. This arrest was not the result of a tip, and no reward will be paid. Mosby’s apprehension is the sixth arrest so far in 2014 for the Texas 10 Most Wanted program. In 2013, DPS and other agencies arrested an all-time record of 32 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders. Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor's Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos on the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
