AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Nicholas Vonwayne Prejean, 24, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list, and a $3,000 cash reward is now offered for information leading to his capture. Prejean, a suspected Crips gang member, is identified as a ”high risk“ sex offender with a violent criminal past. He is wanted for felony failure to register as a sex offender and probation violation. All tips can be offered anonymously.
Prejean, who was born in Beaumont, has relatives living in the Houston area and has worked as an electrician assistant. His criminal history includes arrests for aggravated sexual assault of a child, assault causing bodily injury, drug possession and failure to comply with sex offender registration. He was convicted in 2006 for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl and sentenced to two years in prison.
