Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in El Campo

AUSTIN – Robert Allen Kotlar, 54, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, is now in custody after being arrested on Friday in El Campo, Texas. Kotlar has an extensive criminal history, and was recently wanted for parole violation

A tip regarding Kotlar led investigators to a residence where he was arrested without incident. The Texas Rangers and Texas Highway Patrol assisted in the capture. Kotlarís arrest was the result of a tip, and a reward up to $7,500 will be paid. So far in 2013, DPS and other agencies have arrested 22 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders, including eight gang members, and $54,500 in rewards has been paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governorís Criminal Justice Division.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos – on the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
