AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Robert Charles Grunsfeld, 51, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, and a cash reward up to $3,000 is now being offered for information leading to his capture. Grunsfeld removed his ankle monitor on Friday and fled from a Dallas halfway house. He is considered a sexually violent predator at high risk to reoffend. Texas Crime Stoppers tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.
Grunsfeld has family ties to the Dallas and Austin areas, and he is wanted for felony failure to comply with civil commitment requirements. His criminal history includes one conviction for aggravated sexual assault and two convictions for sexual assault.
In 2010, Grunsfeld was required to live at a Dallas halfway house to participate in the civil commitment program. On Friday evening, he intentionally cut off his ankle monitor and fled.
Grunsfeld is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 186 pounds. In addition, he has used the following aliases: Robert Charles Grumsfeld and Robert Charles Grunsfield.
