Texas Highway Patrol seized 4,400 pounds of marijuana last October in Willacy County on U.S. 77. It is not unusual for Highway Patrol to find smugglers transporting drugs inside truck tractor trailers.

DPS Aviation video shows drug smugglers on the Mexico side of the Rio
Grande River as they recover their load of marijuana. Due to U.S. law
enforcement presence, the smugglers were unable to transport their load
across the river and into Texas for distribution.
